Job Description
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Performs all billing of claims, posts adjustments, and performs self pay reviews
Utilizes and applies industry knowledge to high priority accounts for resolution
Possesses a general knowledge of UB04 and xxxx codes and billing requirements
Communicates relevant procedure changes taking place at the client site that impact the VBO engagement
Performs reviews of denied claims (zero pays) to identify trends
Assists in mentoring of new hires including, but not limited, to shadowing and answering general collection questions
Possesses the flexibility to transfer between teams with ease
Remediates and resolves accounts receivable balance for government and non-government healthcare provider clients
Reviews detailed patient accounting information for payment resolution by utilizing VBO work-driver (ResQ) on a daily basis and documents all activity appropriately
Accurately utilizes external client systems to access patient account information on a daily basis and documents all activity appropriately
Accesses and interprets EOB/Remit information within client imaging systems for account documentation/correspondence/follow-up
Possesses ability to professionally communicate (in all forms) with payer resources such as: website, e-mail, telephone, customer service departments, etc.
Consistently meets or exceeds all established department/client quality and productivity standards
Attends office meetings and scheduled events as required
Possesses a cooperative and positive attitude toward clients, management and co-workers by responding politely and professionally and being a valued team player
Adheres to the HIPAA privacy and security regulations
Accepts change with a positive attitude
Performs other duties as assigned
